This tram has been completely refurbish and had its press relaunch today. Although it does not show up clearly in the daylight, this is an illuminated tram and will be in service during the illuminations period.

HMS Blackpool, one of the ‘Special’ Illuminated trams styed like a small war ship. These normally only come out during the Illuminations period and look much better at night when they are all lit up.

Another – Fishermans friend styled like a trawler.

Lancashire fire and Rescue – 1898 horse drawn fire appliance.

Tram Sunday 20th July 08

A very old restored tram passing through Rossall on its way to the Tram Sunday event in Fleetwood.

The old observatory building on the mound at Fleetwood.

Penny and finlay with the Town Cryer on his way back from opening Tram Sunday.

Trains used to run from Euston up the west coast line all the way to Fleetwood. hence there is a big hotel at the end of the prom Called the ‘North Euston’. but even in the great days of steam you would not have seen an engine parked outside the front door!

More tram Sunday pictures to follow.

Another Sunny day in Blackpool 31 May

The tide is out about as far as it goes on North Shore

View down the prom towards the Tower with the Sealife tram coming towards me.

Moments later the ‘Sealife’ tram has passed me by with the ‘Coral Island’ tram going the other way.

The ‘Sealife Tram is quickly followed by ‘Unison’ Tram.

I have named the trams by what they are advertising. I think the first two shown are referred to as baloon trams because of there shape but I am probably wrong. However all the trams have different model names and serial numbers etc. Are there any tram buffs out there that can fill in the details please?
