About this Blog

I have started this blog as a sort of hobby inspired by other blogs / websites such as lakelandcam and cornwallcam. The idea is to publish pictures (that I will take daily if possible) along with some appropriate notes to highlight what is happening in and around Blackpool. I will also add content about future events/entertainment if I feel this is of interest.

I will strive to create topical and interesting content to try and entertain and encourage you to come back. In this respect any constructive comments would be welcome. I am 50 something and new to blogging so I may need all the help I can get.

My wife Penny and I run the Holmsdale Hotel in Blackpool. We both feel that Blackpool as a resort and attraction is undervalued. Many people do not appreciate all the exciting things that Blackpool still has to offer and the many events that happen here. This blog is my way of trying to spread the word.

Most pictures are taken with a Canon EOS 400 digital SLR

Some are take with a smaller Fugi digital camera and a few opportunist one are taken with a Nokia N95 phone which I usually always have on me.

Feel free to use the images from Blackpoolcam.co.uk if you have a need provided they are used responsibly. Please just give a credit mention to Blackpoolcam.co.uk if the are in the public domain. Note that the pictures published on these pages are reduced size images for the web. High quality images are available on request. Email office@holmsdalehotel-blackpool.com

Hi Phil & Penny (not forgetting Finlay)

We think this is a great idea, and hope you will be able to arrange a bit more of that sunny weather for when we arrive June 10th.

    found your site through lakelandcam.
i have enjoyed looking at your blog and all your pictures, it has been very entertaining, it is a great insight into your home town.
keep up the great work, i will come back and visit regularly to see whats happening over there, i live in the bury area of lancashire.
i started the blackpuddingcam which has been on lakelandcams links for about the last 4 years but i don’t think you can access it anymore, they have changed everything and i have not been able to update it.
the address i have put in the website section is my homepage at fotocommunity, i am a very keen photographer myself and all my images are posted there.
thanks again for producing this website, it is very interesting and informative.
    kind regards, maurice.

Thanks for your kind comments. If you wanted to start up blackpudding.cam again I would suggest doing it as a blog. I used blogging software from wordpress.com to set Blackpoolcam up. Its quite easy to do and most of it is free!

A great site some wonderful images. I love looking at the images but sometimes they are difficult to find. Have you thought about an image gallery? It would be a great addition to this site.
