Blackpool Birley Street bathed in light – Update

The Brilliance Scheme in Birley Street Blackpool moved another step nearer to completion. Six stainless steel arches have been erected across the street with sound and light projectors built into them. this is part of a £3.5m regeneration by light scheme for the town centre. Below is viodeo of the latest trial with all the light and sound working.


Ed Clancy wins Blackpool Nocturne

Team Halfords Bikehut’s Ed Clancy took an impressive victory over rivals Dean Downing and Malcolm Elliott in the Elite Criterium at the Blackpool Nocturne. More than 4,000 spectators saw some of the UK’s premier riders take on the course, with the star riders introduced by Eurosport’s David Harmon before getting underway for the one hour of racing. The young lad on the right won the Hoteliers race. he beat me by 0.6 of a second but he is nearly forty years younger than me. the lad on the left who does triathlons was beaten out of sight. It was just a bit of fun tho. really.
